Big changes have come! They are actually pretty small changes. But it's a pretty small project, so just about anything can be a big change. The big change that has come is the way I plan to attach this to my arm. I wasn't worrying so much about it in the past, but then it became apparent that the way I keep this on my arm could be the defining factor. I plan to make a tight fitting cloth sleeve in which the various components can be sewed into. Again, I did not bring the materials home with me from the lab, because there really isn't anything I can do at home that I can't do during lab time. So I have prepared another fascinating drawing. Another benefit of this approach is that it appears fairly discrete, and the components can be connected to each other through conductive thread, rather than wires. Plus, I get to learn to sew, which is a bonus, I suppose. The plan has evolved slightly, but the core concept remains the same. I feel more optimistic that it will turn out well than I did last week, I must admit. My creativity was aided through some conversations with new people about my project. It was very helpful to talk to folks who didn't know about my ideas, and they could bring their fresh perspectives to the table. Most of the same problems with my ideas remain unsolved, but I have new hope that it won't be so hard to fix.
